Capitalizing on decades of design celebrated by musicians and sound engineers, the SES-DIPRO Passive DI Box from Sescom is a versatile, passively operated DI box that converts a high-impedance, unbalanced, line-level signal to a low-impedance, balanced, microphone-level signal, with three selectable levels of attenuation: -20, -40, and -60 dB. Utilizing high-fidelity circuitry for optimal sound quality, the DIPRO sports one combo XLR-1/4" jack for input, one Neutrik XLR male jack for output, and one 1/4" loop out for monitoring your unaffected signal with an amplifier or loudspeaker, and can send balanced signals too via TRS cables.

The SES-DIPRO features phase selection for reversing polarity to fix phase interference and a ground-lift switch when excessive buzzing and hum is affecting your signal, a particularly useful function for use with electric guitars. Built to last, this DI box is constructed from black anodized, extruded aluminum, for reliable use on stage or in the studio.

Simple to Use
The SES-DIPRO gives you unprecedented flexibility in injecting signals into your microphone preamplifier with a very basic setup. Plug the output of your instrument (electric guitar, bass, keyboard, etc.) into the In jack on the SES-DIPRO, connect an XLR cable to the DIPRO's Out jack, and plug the other end of this cable into the input of your microphone preamplifier (a standalone unit, a mic input on your mixing board, or the mic input on your audio interface). The DIPRO In jack can accept XLR, 1/4" balanced TRS, and 1/4" unbalanced TS cables, and will automatically detect balanced or unbalanced signals.
Three Levels of Attenuation
The ATT (attenuation) switch knocks your signal down by -20, -40 or -60 dB. This lets you plug in a traditional passive instrument (electric guitar or bass) or, unlike other DI boxes, a balanced or unbalanced line-level output from your mixing board, a piece of rack equipment, or your audio interface itself. Simply adjust the ATT switch to the setting that works best with your microphone preamplifier. Aim for a level that isn't too low or too hot, but squarely in the green of your VU meter. Fine tune your gain at the mic preamp.
Clean Monitoring with Loop Out
The Loop Out jack allows you to connect your instrument to an amplifier or other equipment, unaffected, while still pulling a signal into your mic preamp through the SES-DIPRO. In the scenario above, connect an unbalanced cable between the LOOP OUT jack and your amplifier to monitor your instrument. This jack can also send a balanced signal if you are plugging a balanced signal into the IN jack.
Ground Lift
The DIPRO comes with a convenient ground-lift switch for situations where you receive excessive hum or buzz when connected to your microphone preamp. This option is most effective when running active, electronic equipment (rack units, line out from an amp or output from a powered pedal) into the DIPRO. This switch is not typically needed if you are using a passive electric guitar or bass.
Phase-Reversal Switch
The Phase-Reversal Switch is useful for when your signal is negatively interfering with another signal, such as when you have a mic on your amp and you are mixing the two signals together. This switch reverses the positive and negative polarity of your DIPRO signal and can fix phase interference.
