This filter evenly reduces exposure by 3 stops making it suitable for still, movie, and video applications. For still photos the 3-stop reduction allows you to take pictures with a long exposure time, for creating special effect photos with an open shutter. With movie and video productions the 3-stop reduction allows you to gain control over your depth of field.
