The Sescom SES-IL-50DB is an inline attenuator designed to bring a signal down by -50 dB. The device is a 3-pin XLR male to XLR female attenuator, and though it is reversible, it was designed to be used with signal to be cut going into the female side.
The attenuator is fully-balanced and designed to prevent overloading peaks and distortion, doing so without tonal coloration. As this is a simple attenuator, no additional cables or adapters are necessary. Simply plug this adapter into the appropriate gear. Alternatively, you can situate it between two XLR cables to bring the signal down in transit.
